Sensory Information

From birth, children are exploring their senses and processing new information. They begin to make sense of the world around them as they grow through the exploration of new textures, materials and resources.
Sensory play is a valuable way of engaging children in activities that will heighten their senses and enrich their learning.

Sensory play includes any activity that stimulates baby's sense of touch, smell, taste, sight or hearing. It encourages little ones to use their senses to play, create, investigate and explore. It can be an early but important step in the development process.

Auditory sensory play explores sounds through play which helps the child differentiate sounds and helps them develop their hearing.

Messy play encourages healthy child development at any age. It allows children to experience and explore different textures.

Music for babies helps brain development, it builds motor skills as well as memory skills. As they grow you'll find your toddler dance and move to music.

Remember, sensory play is not just for baby groups, it is something you can enjoy at home every day :)

Have fun!
